RAGE ALL-STARS – ATHLETE Q&A
Q: Am I moving up a level this season?
A: Not automatically. Athletes do not move levels each year. Placement is based on skill mastery, consistency, and team needs, not time in the program.
⸻
Q: What determines my team placement?
A: Team placements are based on:
• Current skill level (not potential)
• Execution and technique
• Consistency under pressure
• Attendance and work ethic
• Team structure and overall needs
⸻
Q: What do I need to do to level up?
A:
• Master your current skills with strong technique
• Show consistency (not just “one-time” skills)
• Attend all practices and extra training opportunities
• Take corrections and apply them
• Put in work outside of scheduled practices
⸻
Q: Do returning athletes have a guaranteed spot?
A: No. All athletes must attend tryouts. Returning athletes are familiar with our expectations, but teams are rebuilt each season.
⸻
Q: What if I cannot attend the April 11th tryout?
A: We typically hold a second tryout date to help fill remaining spots; however, that date has not been scheduled yet. This year, we are keeping our options open since April 11th conflicts with a local competition and other events in the San Antonio area, which may affect attendance for some athletes.
* A second tryout will likely be held later in April, but no official date has been confirmed at this time.
⸻
Q: Will my practice schedule be the same as last year?
A: Not guaranteed. Practice days and times may change depending on team placements and gym structure.
⸻
Q: Can I request to be on a certain team or with certain athletes?
A: No. Team placements are made based on what is best for the athlete’s development and the program as a whole.
⸻
Q: What if I disagree with my placement?
A: Placements are final. They are made with careful evaluation from multiple coaches with the athlete’s best interest and team success in mind.
⸻
Q: When will I find out my team?
A: Team placements will be announced after tryouts. Please allow time for proper evaluation. Results will be posted online by Sunday midnight.
⸻
Q: What is expected from returning athletes?
A:
• Strong attendance
• Positive attitude
• Respect for coaches and teammates
• Full effort at every practice
• Leadership and setting the standard for new athletes
⸻
Q: Can I do other sports or activities?
A: Possibly, but All-Star cheer is a commitment and must remain as a priority. Attendance policies and blackout dates still apply, especially during choreography and competition season.
